CREED 7B TELEPRINTER

In 1925 Frederick Creed acquired the patent of an improved Baudot code that was used to transmit letters and numbers in 5 bit format. Creed experimented with a number of early models of teleprinters and in 1931 he introduced his famous model 7b, a 50 baud teleprinter. Each character has a start and stop bit added to the five databits. The bitrate of a message only refers to the databits, so 50 baud means 35 databits per second. At 50 baud this printer is capable of transmitting on average 60 words per minute.

I restored a Creed 7b machine and added a controller to either receive a message via WiFi or to print a preprogrammed phrase.
