GPO 121

The model 121 was widely used in the UK from around 1924 onwards. It is a wall telephone with a Bell type receiver, a carbon microphone inside a bakelite mouthpiece, and a bellset in the same housing. The mouthpiece sits on a hinge and can be moved vertically. The 121 was manufactured by GEC and was available with and without a dial. It is configured for central battery (CB) operation where power is provided from a manual or automatic exchange.
