ERICSSON type B

The type B was manufactured from 1912 onwards. It is an elegant wall telephone with a small writing desk covering the magneto generator. The original model required a local battery that was housed inside the box underneath the generator.

My model was manufactured in 1917 and later professionally modified by an Ericsson engineer at their factory in Rijen, the Netherlands. He added a dial to make it work with automatic telephone exchanges. The dial is mounted inside the battery box. The modified circuit includes a sidetone suppression coil.
