ERICSSON N1170

The N1170 telephone was specifically used by the railways because it was suitable for long distances whilst using a local low-voltage battery. It is equipped with a relay that operates the DC bell on the local battery. The receiver is of the Bell type where a thin metal diaphragm rests close to an electromagnet. The fixed transmitter houses a carbon microphone.
