IMPULSE REGENERATOR
In the late 1930s the British Post Office introduced Impulse Regenerator No 1 to restore dial pulses travelling between exchanges. These regenerators are actually electromechanical memory devices. They store a telephone number and regenerate the associated pulses in a standard format.
