GPO 162

The 162 was the first model moulded from bakelite. It was introduced in 1929 by Siemens Brothers in London. It was too small to hold the bells and induction coil. Those were housed in bakelite cased bellset No 25. The bellset could be mounted against a wall away from the telephone, or it could be bolted under the telephone. There was also an option to mount a drawer under the telephone or under the bellset. The combination was known as the pyramid.
