SIEMENS & HALSKE SA28

The model SA28 and its variants are iconic German telephones. The SA28 was introduced in 1928. It has a metal casing and bakelite handset. Different from other telephones is the way the dial is connected to the line. The dial is mechanically locked when the handset is down. This prevents the sending of dial pulses. In other phones the dial is disconnected from the line by a contact in the cradle switch.
