ERICSSON AGF
In 1923 the Ericsson telephone company installed their first AGF 500 exchange in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
I got hold of a 500 line selector element and I built a demonstrator to simulate its operation. The selector can in principle address 500 lines but I have only connected two telephones. These selectors were known as pancakes because of their flat shape. They would be stacked in racks of up to 70 selectors. I captured the demo in a video:
